Spaghetti Carbonara


  • streaky bacon
  • chopped garlic
  • spaghetti
  • jumbo eggs
  • parmesan
  • parsley
  • bacon mix


  • Fry 250g chopped streaky bacon in a pan until brownedAdd 5ml chopped garlic fry 1 minAdd half cup of white wine to bacon mix and reduce by half
  • Boil a pot of water add salt once boiling and 500g spaghetti. Cook to your liking – al dente is the way to go. Drain
  • Crack 2 jumbo eggs and lightly beat
    Grate 85g Parmesan
    Add half to egg mix (other half for garnish)
    Chopped half cup lightly packed parsley
    Add half to egg mix (other half for garnish)
  • Now add the bacon mix to cooked spaghetti
    Add egg mix and stir to incorporate all the egg mix
    Pour into a heated serving bowl and garnish with Parmesan and flat leaf parsley
  • Serve with wine, crusty bread and a summer salad
